I have always been a fan of new technology, however in recent years I think there is much to be said for liking something and ‘sticking with it’.
I cannot even recall the reason why, however it is fair to say that I am a Taylormade man through and through. When I began taking golf seriously I bought an R5 driver. This was replaced by an R7 Dual and then I moved onto the R9. Same goes for my irons. About 8 years ago I was playing Taylormade RAC irons, then I moved onto Burner’s and then at the same time I changed my driver I went for R9 TP Irons. The only negative I would throw at Taylormade is the regularity at which they replace their equipment. As soon as I got fitted for my R9’s I saw an advert for R11’s and as we know since then we have moved onto to SLDR and now M1. I am sure this page will be out of date within a few weeks.
So below I have listed everything in my bag. THe main reason for still using this gear is that is suits me just fine to be honest. I play well with it. My drives range from 270-300 yards, my 8 iron goes a solid 150-160 yards, so all in all I have no need to spend more money.
One day the drive will snap and the grooves in irons will wear out. I guess on that note the wedges may need replacing due to the spin needing to be as sharp as possible but until then they do me just fine
