Who is the man behind Confident Golfer?

Q.1. How long have you played golf?
A.I first started playing golf when I was 13. I played with a mixed set of second hand clubs. Having realized that I was terrible with a driver I opted for a 4 iron off the Par 4/5’s. It stayed this was till I was in my 20’s.

Q.2. Who is your favorite golfer?
A.Without a doubt it is Bobby Jones. I have studied his game and approach to golf and was greatly impressed by his achievements bearing in mind he never turned pro. He won the grand slam which has never been repeated, designed Augusta National, and in among playing golf became a lawyer. The man is a legend.

Q.3. Which modern golfer do you most try to emulate?
A.Difficult question to answer. I am an advocate of the classic swing and do not believe power is everything, therefore I would have to say Luke Donald. He has had a steady career with many wins and although not the biggest hitter he has been one of the most consistant performers of the past 10-15 years.

Q.4. What is your favourite club?
A.I would have to say my 60 degree wedge. I use it for all green-side bunker shots and pretty much everything from inside 80 yards.

Q.5. What is your lowest round?
A.It was a 75 on a par 72 for a 3 over. I did not do anything particularly well. In fact I was disappointed with 2 sloppy double bogeys which came out of nowhere. But hey, thats golf right. I managed 5 birdies that day. I believe at the better level you need to get things going with the wedges and putter to regularly shoot in the 70’s.
